Some days seem so far off in life that when they actually come you are caught by surprise. That is this day! David will be cordless for the first time in his life today! That's right... we had a great visit yesterday at the BPD clinic and he has had no events for 57 days and he is 56 weeks (doesn't that sound like a lot?). The nurse said they will officially call me today after they are able to analyze the data. :) Lots of smiles. David is not awake yet but I am dying to get him unhooked and just mosey around without tripping or having to handle another object. God is so good to us. I remember when we first came home, this day was not even in my mind. It seemed years away... freedom at last!
Just a quick update on David, he is doing good, currently weighs 13 lbs, 12 oz and 24 inches long. He is holding his head up well and loves to sit (of course assisted). Likes to blow bubbles and make little kiss noises (or at least I think it is in response to mine). He is trying to hold toys and put them in his mouth, sometimes getting very angry when they don't do what he wants... He went on his first walk last week and seemed to enjoy looking at everything.
Anna is such a cutie and a toddler... she is talking up a storm with new and hilarious phrases everyday. Currently, when she doesn't want to get something when I ask her, she says "Anna's busy!" Hmmmmm... She loves bunnies, her new Dora backpack, the movie Clifford and reading the book I'm a Big Sister and The Little Red Hen (makes a pizza). She is doing well with potty training and is going on the "big" potty now!
Thank you so much for all of your thoughts and prayers for David. We continue to pray for complete healing to his brain and that his development would stay on track. Please say a prayer for David's vision, he doesn't seem to look at faces when he is sitting up... we are not sure what he is seeing. Thank you again!
Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Psalm 103:1
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
Hebrews 10:23
Praise God! So happy you guys are cord free :)
ReplyDeleteWe're still praying for David's healing, and for your family. Praise Jesus for the ability to chuck those darn cords! Just wanted to let you know we've been thinking of you! : )
