update

well... David is not one to make things light. A few issues have come up. Long story short - a large amount of air in his tummy caused pressure against his lungs in such an extreme way that his co2 level sky rocketed, a little while after surgery. He is back on the oscillator. I know what your thinking, what in the world? Me too. After all, surgery went so well. Pray God would make this a short and no-more-craziness recovery.

Although I desperately miss the nurses from the other hospital who know David so well and loved him, I do have to say I am very pleased with the staff. They have communicated with me every step of the way and put up with my constant questioning. They certainly aren't used to moms being able to be here a lot and understanding all of the complexities of their babies situation. Thank God for the grandparents, they have all been such a blessing in taking care of Anna. I wouldn't be able to be here as much without them.

How am I doing...? well during surgery I had such an amazing peace, after, when all of this tumbled into a snowball I got a little anxious and frustrated, but I took a deep breath, prayed, asked others to pray (my hubby, etc) and I know, no matter what, God is with us and He is still good. Thank you so much for all your prayers for the surgery. Please continue with us in praying for the health and healing of our baby David. Pray that his lungs would recover, his belly would recover, his shunt would perform perfectly, and that Joel and I would continue to trust and rely on the Lord.
