Hello!

I can finally say it is getting cold in the hottest place on the planet (or at least it feels like it at times...)! I love it! Of course I am still wearing short sleeves in the house, but at least pants on my legs!

Getting to the point... we had a good trip to Phoenix. Things went very well. David got his MRI of the brain and we went to see the neurosurgeon after. He didn't have much to say about it, the shunt is working and there are signs of prematurity and some damage from his bleeding, all expected. Otherwise, he asked me how he was doing and to watch David and make sure he is doing new things every month.

We also saw the ophthalmologist. He said David's eyes are completely healthy! However, he does not track objects all of the time and has some eye crossing, neither of which he is worried about at this time. He concluded that David has a cortical impairment, which means some of the pathways for vision were probably damaged with the bleeding and as the brain is growing it has to make new pathways for this. The doctor was very encouraging and said that time may heal... he is not for sure but has seen it before many times. I do feel like David has been seeing things a little better over the last couple of months. We are praying for the Lord to continue to do the miraculous in David's life.

He really is such a delightful baby! He is calm and sleeps well, makes such sweet noises and loves to watch sis play or sing to him. He is almost sitting up on his own, I know he will really enjoy it when he can! Our only issue right now is he doesn't really like to drink his milk... although he will eventually drink it, it has become an issue. Good thing we are just starting to feed him real food. PRAY that he likes it!!!! I have to pray everyday for patience during the bottle feedings!

Everyday, I thank God for my precious son, who is one of the greatest miracles I have ever witnessed. Before now, I didn't realize or couldn't grasp the reality that a lot of babies are born with issues that need a miracle. When I do hear about them, they bring me to tears because I think back to my time in the hospital and how hard it was... If you have a moment, please pray for an old college friend of mine, Christa and her baby Ella. She is in the fight of her life and needs a great miracle from the Lord.

Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.
