still holding strong

David really likes not having a tube in his throat... of course now he is fighting the nasal cannula! It's rough being a preemie. When he is awake, he is alert and active, trying to push with all his might. (I think for a bowel movement) The abdomen x-ray is improved a little from yesterday (praise!) and the chest x-ray is unchanged but ok. They are still worried about one spot, but since David is acting ok and off the ventilator with no problems they are encouraged. They will leave things as they are (for a few more days) unless he starts acting ravenously hungry, they may attempt to feed a little. (He already is eating away at the paci...) I'm sure it won't be long.

Joel and I are of course joyful at his progress and we continue to pray earnestly for our David to be strong and healthy. Please continue to pray with us for bowels to move and healing for his brain. Thank you!

***Just so you know David is actually 6lbs, 9 oz! Can you imagine if I would have carried him full term, what a chunk! :) (at least for me)

  3. Praise the Lord! We are so joyful of the wonderful news you continue to share. I cannot believe David is 6lbs 9oz- he weighs more than when Etta was born. Go David! We are thankful he is off the ventilator and pray he continues to gain strength. Every day is a gift and we pray for your family and give thanks for God's many, many blessing! Sending our love, Nathan, Jennifer and Etta
