I'm not even sure how to start... basically David continued to go downhill, his lungs shut down last night and now he is on an oscillator ventilator. I had never seen or heard of one before coming here. I have seen other babies on it but not David. His CO2 is very unstable and they are using this machine to try and get a handle on it. We are still waiting on some lab results, preliminary results do not show infection. The doctors think it has to do with his brain, but are not ruling out infection. If David is stable enough, we will move to the main Phoenix Children's Hospital today. The surgery is tentatively scheduled for Monday.
I did get to see his beautiful eyes this morning, he was awake a few minutes and gripped my finger tight. They are keeping him sedated with the lowest dose they can, so he can rest and let his lungs re inflate. We are doing our best to be strong and place our burden on the Lord. Keep our David and us in your prayers today. I will try and post when I know more or what to pray for. Right now, that his lungs would drastically improve and CO2 levels would stabilize.
oh sweet david be strong for us. we love you dearly. its in gads hands!!
