David had a good night and today they are starting to wean (turn down) his pressure throw the nasal cannula. The pressure just helps with his breathing, it's not oxygen, he is mostly breathing at room air (same as us). We need the flow to be weaned because his belly is starting to look like a pregnant woman (is what my nurse would say)! This causes him discomfort in many different ways, mostly with gas. My prayer is that they could slowly reduce this pressure and David would be able to adjust with no problems.
I continue to hold David once a day kangaroo style, that is skin to skin. It is such a nice time to relax and get a close up look. Today we worked on non-nutritive nursing! Our first step into breastfeeding... although he still has many weeks before it would actually begin, he did a great job. I am praying he will want and be able to nurse. The developmental therapist was in to assess David today as well and was very impressed with how much he was doing! Go David and praise God!
Way to go David! Just keep growing and getting stronger!
