I got to hold my precious peanut for the first time!!! It was so very nice to feel his warmth and breathing... although he was a little squirmy and left little feet marks on me! We should be able to do this daily now, praise God.
On a different note... the doctor did decide to draw labs to determine whether or not he had an infection. So far preliminary results say he does. His WBC (white blood count) level is quite elevated. (this is a sign of infection in all people) So they will start him on antibiotics now. My nurse background is not helping of course right now, but the Lord is reminding of the popular verse - "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, lean not on your own understanding." Proverbs 3:5
I must get back to David, thank you for your prayers!
Crystal- I am so happy that you got to hold your (very) little guy today, but I am sorry to hear about the infection. I am praying for you guys right now...infection, LEAVE in Jesus' Name!!!!

I praise You, Jesus. I exalt and thank You that You are our Healer. Thank You for dying for us on the cross. You are greater than anything we face or suffer, and we thank You that in Your name we can find healing. Your power is unlimited. We know that if you heal us we will be healed completely. Thank You that You will rise up with healing for those who fear Your name (Malachi 4:2). O God be merciful to us! For our soul trust in You; and in the shadow of Your wings we will make our refuge. You sent Your word and healed us, and delivered us from our destructions. (Psalm 107:20)
ReplyDeleteI pray specifically for David and I lay him at the feet of Jesus. While there are many things in life that are frightening or overwhelming, I know that Your power is greater than all of them. Anything we face is nothing alongside Your ability to redeem it. Please bless Crystal and her family with peace that surpasses understanding as they trust in You! Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications. In the day of our trouble we will call upon You, for You will answer us. (Psalm 86:6-7)

Crystal, Joel, Anna and David - so glad to hear you have reached yet another milestone! To hold your tiny son in your arms must have been awesome! We are praying for the infection and David's quick healing! Praise God that David is gaining weight ahead of schedule! Mother's milk must be helping in that department! Our God provides us with all that we have and that we need!
ReplyDeleteThat is so great that you got to hold David. That must have been an amazing experience, there is nothing like holding your child for the first time.
