Hello! It has been a long time since I have written. Let me do some catch up!
So, David has hit another milestone (actually 2 weeks ago)! He rolled over, from his back to tummy, then he gets preoccupied with gnawing on his hands so he doesn't go back over... We are working on that. He hasn't been weighed in a while but we see the doctor this week so I will let you know! He just started using the exersaucer and he seems to enjoy it, for short periods anyhow. I think Anna has also enjoyed seeing it again too. It's funny how the older sibling finds so much joy in the baby toys... :)
Last time I wrote, we were just going to see the developmental doctor. That appointment was okay. I actually left feeling a little down in the dumps. She didn't say anything terrible but I went in with high expectations, little did I know she did as well! He tested a little younger than his adjusted age and he rolled over the week after we saw her, so he would definitely test higher now. She did notice the weakness in his left hand and a little tightness in his left ankle (which we already knew). She was also worried about his vision. He does a lot of crossing and is not focusing on people when he is carried. David has an appointment with the eye doctor this week, so I am curious and nervous to see what he says. Please keep this in your prayers!
Another appointment we have this week is with the neurosurgeon and we will get a one bang MRI (basically one shot, no sedation) of his brain to verify the shunt is working and look at his brain development. Just so you know, we have only had bad news when it comes to any brain scans with David, he has not had any since the shunt was placed... please pray for peace and strength whatever the news.
I have taken forever to post this, so now our appointments are tomorrow!! My goodness how time flies. I will be sure to post later this week or early next week with results. Thank you again for staying up to date and keeping our special boy in your prayers!
