this and that

Ok so we made it back from Phoenix alive... it seems like such a long drive. David is so S L O W in developing his retinas, my goodness. He is still not fully developed but the disease is looking better and he is down to stage 1 and stage 1,2. I fully trust that David's eyes will not continue on with the disease, it just may take longer than I would like (and more trips to Phoenix) to reach stage 0, zone 3.

The weigh in this week was great! David is 10 lbs, 8 oz, still growing strong. He is still eating by mouth and I'm ready to ship the feeding pump equipment back, hopefully the doctor agrees at our next appointment.

The physical therapist came by today and evaluated David. She was impressed with his performance! She says that he scores (on a gross motor scale) right where he is supposed to be, at a one month old level (rounded down from 1.5 months). We will see her every 2 weeks and we have some exercises that we will do with him daily.

Anna is doing well, singing her ABC's (almost correctly), drawing smiley/sad faces everywhere, talking up a storm (and saying new words daily that I didn't even know she has heard - like rubber band), got her first haircut on Wednesday and still loves her bunny to sleep with. She does like her brother David, but she always wants to hold him when he is crying... weird huh? :)

Oh and David got kicked out of mommy and daddy's room! We are almost finished with his nursery. Our friend Aimee was so gracious to give us her nursery set, thank you Aimee!! and so that made it waaaay faster. I was planning on making the bumper and all the accessories but really that was going to take awhile... :)

Thank you for your comments and prayers, they are loved! We continue to pray for growth and healing for David!

  1. Awesome news! Glad David is continuing on his mission to amaze and inspire! Anna seems to be adjusting to all the changes without too much trouble. It's good to hear that life is slowly settling down for you guys.
