Wow! what a whirlwind...

David's x-ray was not good, the doctors continue to be very concerned about his bowels. They are worried about ileus (the bowel are not working/moving correctly). Which also may lead them to think he may have NEC (Necrotizing Enterocolitis). Both of which can cause infections in the bowel, both extremely dangerous for David. That's the easy way to put it. You can do more research if you want, click here for some info on NEC but I will warn you, it may be a little alarming. So far, they have stopped David's feedings (yesterday) and today put his feeding tube to suction. They will check another x-ray in the morning to see if there is any change.

On a good note, his weight is up to a whopping 6 lbs! And his CO2 levels remain good, another level will be done at 5pm today to see if they can continue to wean him off the oscillator. The x-ray did show he had some distention of his belly pushing into his lungs.

Pray for healing, pray for stool, pray for no infection, pray for strong doctors and nurses that are making decisions and caring for him. Pray for Joel and I, we are doing our best, we are praying, we are trusting. We are trying to spend as much time as we can at the hospital, except for some time at meals as a family, pray for rest and strength.
