David - Beloved. William - Protector.

All,
My thanks to everyone for the prayers, the visits, the meals, watching our stupid dog, and all the support that has poured in. Things have been progressing very well for the last few weeks but these last few days have taken a turn for the worst. Crystal mentioned briefly that David's eyes are not where they should be. In addition, he has stopped ventilating well and over the past 24 hours has needed significant increases in his breathing support. He is back on the breathing mask (CPAP)and if his next blood test is not a drastic improvement (his most recent still was not good), they will have to intubate him again tonight. He also had a head ultrasound today that was significantly worse than what we had previously seen. As it stands now, we will probably be moving to the other hospital Monday, if not sooner, so David can undergo surgery to place the shunt in his brain. If you can, please join me in fasting and praying for David this weekend. We are ready for a miracle.

On a happier note, Anna got to meet David for the first time today. It's unfortunate she had to see him with his head gear and mask but she was cute and informed us that he was, in fact, a baby. Maybe now she'll quit pointing to Crystal's stomach and saying, "baby". She also correctly identified the duck hanging in David's crib and his paci before getting bored and rolling around on the floor for a while. I'm sure Crystal will tell you all a much better version of the story later.

  1. My sweet friends: We certainly will be praying for your precious David. I glanced over and saw Psalm 46 posted...what a powerful verse to cling to and claim. We will be carrying you all to the throne of grace in our prayers tonight and throughout the weekend.
